I have really been on the Michigan
theme lately. Today I made this
plaid Michigan note card.

My friend Kelly is leaving for Tonga

next week as part of the Peace Corps.

I wanted to make her a shirt.

She liked the other Michigan one

I made, but I wanted to make it a

bit different that the previous one.

In Grand Rapids, MI there is
an awesome competition called
the ArtPrize. It started this year,
and is open to everyone. The public
votes on the art.
Anyways, the spin off of the ArtPrize
is the ShirtPrize. I entered the shirt
above, but it had too many colors.
Michigan is going through hard times
due to the auto industry and economy.
I wanted to show Michigan in a
positive light, that is the result.

i silk screened the bikes on vintage

library cards, and made the envelopes

from old maps. one of my favorite creations.
